Specialist marine and construction engineering

At AJ Woods Engineering, based in Harwich, Essex, we pride ourselves on finding innovative solutions to complex problems within the renewables, marine and construction sectors.

Within the renewables sector, we offer fast response wind turbine maintenance, 24-hour refuelling and the demobilisation and remobilisation of ships. We construct bespoke cable handling and access equipment for ships and other marine structures and carry out emergency repairs.  We also supply marine equipment for hire, including vessels, light structures and gas cages.

For the construction industry, we provide bespoke solutions, including the design and manufacture of stairwells, steel railings, structural steel, stainless steel and aluminium for commercial and residential properties.

We have recently acquired a waterside site at the gateway to Harwich at Gas House Quay called New Haven Marina. The site is currently being developed and will soon be able to offer full boatyard and marina facilities from general day-to-day maintenance of your vessel to supplying electronics for on-board use. Our team can also help if you wish to buy and sell boats in Harwich.

Our team is highly trained and we have ISO 9001 certification by LRQA. We have established a training centre for both our own staff and external companies, to support people working in the offshore windfarm, marine and construction industries.
